In January 2020, and every month since, I have received a text message bill notification. For years and years I never received text message bill notifications. I double checked to see if my account preferences have changed, and they haven't, it's still set to receive bill notifications via email ONLY. My phone is a few years old and I have no Verizon Wireless apps installed on it, so that hasn't changed. I have called Verizon Wireless technical support every month this year after receiving the text notification, the last 2 times even reaching advanced technical support, and the problem still hasn't been solved. All they do is look at my account settings which isn't the problem. I need someone who thinks outside the box to start looking at Verizon Wireless policies that went into effect January 2020. Is there anyone out there who can help me?

Am I even talking to a human being, or is this just a computer spitting out generic responses? As I said in the first post, this is not a settings issue. None of my settings have changed in the last few years. I haven't been receiving ANY text notifications from Verizon, which is the way I want it to be. That is up until the beginning of 2020 when I starting receiving text notifications every month for my bill. I have called customer service every month this year and every agent thinks they solved the issue because they look at my settings and the settings show I should be receiving bill notifications via email. Yet at the end of the month like clockwork I get a text notification about my bill. As I said before, I need someone who can think outside the box and start looking at policies Verizon set into effect starting in 2020. Again, THIS IS NOT A SETTINGS ISSUE. Unless it is a setting on Verizon's end that I have no access to.
You are speaking with a live agent. Thank you for your willingness to troubleshoot with us so that we can get to the bottom of this with you. Can you please remove the block on the text message notifications, then sign out of your My Verizon? After that has been done, sign back in and replace the block on your notifications. Please let us know if that helps to refresh that notification block.
If you are referring to the My Verizon app, that app is not installed on my phone and never has been. I purchased my phone out right at Costco so it didn't come pre-installed with all the Verizon Wireless bloatware.
No I'm not interested in installing any Verizon Wireless bloatware apps to view my bill. I've been receiving my bill via US mail for 23 years and that is the way it will stay. I just want to stop receiving the bill notification text messages that I suddenly started receiving in January 2020 that I didn't receive the 22+ years prior. I don't understand what is so difficult about this.
We have the opposite problem. My husband always got the bill alert via text and like it that way and suddenly it stopped a few months ago and I get an email instead. Don't want an email, just want his number to get the text about the bill.
