Text message history stopped

My phone has stopped posting my history of text messages on the usage log.  Unfortunately I need a number that texted me last week and it is not updating.  I erased the text (ugh).  The text message log stopped at 03/30/2020, I cannot wait until the billing cycle ends to retrieve that number.  How can I get the log to refresh?
