Trade-In Special Too Good To Be True

I took advantage of Verizon Wireless trade-in special. An $800 credit for any phone in ant condition, as long as the phone can be powered on. I had an 256 GB iPhone 10 S Max. It was in very good condition. So, I took advantage and got a new iPhone 13 Pro Max. I sent in my old phone. I kept looking at my bill for the credit, but I didn’t see it at first. Then I saw it… Instead of them crediting my account in full as they have done in the past, these slicksters apply the credit monthly! So I am charged the monthly bill, the. The discount is applied. This is definitely a  benefit for Verizon Wireless, not it’s customers. I knew that special was too good to be true.

Do you have a screen shot the deal says you get it in a lump sum or do you have it in writing?  Very unusual as it's always credit off the bill over 3yrs.  Where did you see it wasn't a monthly credit?
