Hi, I am part of a family plan. It's my wife, my mom, my 2 sisters, and me. My wife and I are switching to xfinity mobile. What steps do I need to take with Verizon after the switch has occured and our devices are activated through xfinity? I read that sometimes it's better to put a reserve on the lines to maintain the multi-line discount through Verizon rather than out-right cancelling the 2 lines with them. Anyone have experience or suggestions in regards to this manner?
RobBur, we're really sad to hear that you are wanting to leave the Verizon family. Are you wanting to take your phone numbers to the new carrier? You will want to check with XFinity on their port process.
Yes, we are taking our phone numbers with us. Everything appears to be setup through them and taken care of. Within a week or two our phones will be active through XFinity with our phone numbers we had on Verizon. What I need help with is do I need to call Verizon to "cancel" those lines or does that happen automatically because we are taking our numbers with us to XFinity.
I'm sorry that you are moving to another wireless carrier, RobBur. The port-out process is completed with your new carrier and there is no need for you to contact us as your account will be automatically closed at the end of the billing cycle in which you request the port-out. Please take a minute to review this link (https://www.verizon.com/support/port-out-faqs/) to confirm the details of the process.
