Several months ago I responded to a Verizon offer for a Verizon CC with rewards. The rewards were supposed to be used for my Verizon bill plus a few other options. This CC is managed by Synchrony Bank. Each month Synchrony post the amount of the Verizon Dollars I am due and then redirects me to the Verizon site where I should be able to apply those dollars to my monthly bill. Since I started using this card I was able to collect only once. One month I received an email from Verizon stating because I had no used my dollars I lost them. In the last billing cycle Synchrony has posted my rewards at about $10 until today and the Verizon Dollars were posted as $26.16. The $26.16 is only the rewards for this past month. What happened to the $10? Once again when I try to collect the $26.16 amount the Verizon site shows $0 dollars.
When I ask for help I am repeatedly referred to Synchrony Bank and while very helpful they cannot address the Verizon Dollars issues and refer me back to Verizon. I have yet to find a way to contact anyone in Verizon on this issue.
In the meantime, while I am unable to collect the 4% rewards from Verizon I am sacrificing the 2% cash back from another card that pays their rewards every month without my doing anything. If I am unable to correct this issues this month I will be retiring the Verizon CC.
