I switched to Verizon in Dec 2020 on BYOD. During the online signup, there was an option to run credit check and I chose not to run the credit check due to the ding to my credit report. Verizon allowed the signup process to go thru as I was not buying any devices, just the plan.
Now, I want to upgrade by existing phone to an iPhone 12 Pro on DPP but Verizon website doesn't display the DPP option for me. Called up 1-800 number, even they couldn't do it. The reason: The customer needs to wait for 12 months before they are eligible for DPP or need to run a credit check.
The problem: Verizon backend system refuses to run my credit check. There is absolutely no option available for Verizon customer service or account activation departments to run my credit check. I was on hold for more than 3 hrs but no dice.
Which dept in Verizon can run my credit report so I become eligible for DPP? I have a very good credit score at all 3 bureaus.
