Lol. You would be the only one. Thanks to Verizon and T-mo new plans, even legacy unlimited users are leaving like rats off a sinking ship. With the $55 single line plan, and unlimited plan, Verizon just KO'd ATT, who has been hemorrhaging customers for over 6 months.
If I used more data, or my bill was $25 more, I would be switching too.
ATT is clueless.
dgg970 , we value your 5 years of loyalty and would be sadden to see you go. As a customer myself, I know how important it is to keep track of gigabytes each month. Allow me a chance to take a closer look at your account to review the usage and also to help make sure that you are set up for wireless success.

Same spike problem here. It's complete [Removed] Jumped through the hoops. Know tech. Know it isn't my device setting. Unless they're there for show. It's a big scam to get you to upgrade to Unlimited Data...which is throttled once you hit a certain limit...which they're counting on...so they can control who gets to use what and how fast...don't forget it's not $80...add unexplainable phone surcharges, taxes, santa's cookies supply, and bigfoot and you'll see your bill has increased significantly.

That's a bit, okay... a lot exaggerated.
1. It is not throttled, Verizon isn't allowed to throttle. There is a HUGE difference in how much data you can use at full speed when data is only reprioritised. ATT customers are reprioritised at 22 gigs and no one reports they slow down at 22. Most say no slow down ever.
2. While some states have some hefty taxes, the average is under $5 per line. So the $5 auto pay discount covers the tax in most states, including mine with 50 cents left over. So $85.
considering the coverage Verizon offers, this is an excellent deal.
Exaggerated...was it that obvious...it was the bigfoot tax charge that gave it away...
1. Thanks for agreeing and explaining exactly what throttling is and that they do in fact do it. Renaming something doesn't change what it is. A dog is still a dog regardless of language used. "Reprioritising" usage is Throttling. Ex: 20gb goes down the line to two people, the one with less used data gets preferential gb exchange, while the 2nd is THROTTLED to lower exchange.
2. Let's clarify since Santa threw you for a loop...the est. charges $80 plan, $20 line fee, $15/mo. phone payoff, $5 local tax, $5 state tax, $5 svc. taxes...following? Your $80 good deal has inflated...just a bit...ok, alot.
In this weather, we call it a yeti tax....
1. Well now I have to explain further. Throttling is done by the computer system and slows the data to 2 or 3 G speed once the cap is reached. Reprioritising means the line must except interference from those who have not hit there cap during times of network congestion. ATT has no where near the network flow that Verizon does and nobody is complaining (which ATT customers do a lot). What's more, those who have the plan say they rarely experience slow down past 22 gigs, if ever.
I will bet you a full dollar, there will be no complaints on this plan well past the 22 gig mark. Especially for remote customers who have no other data option and no competition for the spectrum.
2. The installment plan on a phone would happen on any plan, the apples to apples has to be service only.
The plan is $65 plus $20, not 80 plus $20. Taxes are a total of $5 price line, not $15.
This plan is bargain priced at $85 (or maybe as high as $90 if you live in California) with taxes included.
I received a notice to upgrade Android OS and I upgraded on Jan 5 and immediately usage skyrocketed. No other changes.....coincidence? Thinking it is NOT so coincidental. Under data usage, Android OS is the big culprit and it NEVER was before.
did you recently upgrade your OS per a notification that an upgrade was available? I did and my data usage has skyrocketed. I feel like I am being scammed too by Verizon. Android OS was never previously a big data user but now it is more than 3 times that of Facebook . I will be looking at other carriers.
The last thing we want is to lose you as a customer, SANBEA9. You have a right to know about the data usage patterns and we are here to help. Let's take a look and see what changed in the data usage on the device. What make and model device do you have? How was the software update done? For example, were you connected to wifi or was it downloaded and installed using cellular data? Keep in mind that software updates done via cellular data will show up under Android OS.

Same here. Android System update which took like an hour or so to install. Not sure if that's the culprit, but it's an avenue to explore. Regardless, if it is, Vzn did nothing to step up ensuring the data wouldn't get killed as a result of the update. Mind you, I scheduled this to happen automatically around 7 or 8 pm to use my wifi.
Sub-answer/Possibility - android auto switch connection is [Removed]. as well. No matter the connection, if both data and wifi are switched ON, the device just cycles to maintain a "constant" "good" connection. Apple phones don't do this. Again, regardless of this being a possibility, I always had both ON and the previous 4 months (even while out of town 3 weeks) did not result in my data usage skyrocketing in a 2-3 day period thus maxing out.
