Ever since I bought my iPhone 6 in early October, my phone shows up on Verizon's website as a non-Verizon device.
I bought it through a Verizon store along with my wife's iPhone 6. Identical phones. Her's shows up as an iPhone, my is listed as a Non-VZW Device.
I now see a notice when I log in stating: "Your SIM card is loaded on a device not recognized by Verizon Wireless. Some services & features may not perform as expected."
The phone works fine.
I have had numerous conversations with customer support/tech support. Most say: "Just wait. It will get straightened out." The last guy told me this was an issue that pops up frequently, and they don't know how to fix it.
I have given staff the phone's various ID numbers at least 3 times, to be re-entered into the system.
My concern is that if I have a problem with the phone at some point, Verizon may say : "Sorry, this is a non-verizon device, can't help you."
If there is a Verizon Support Person monitoring this forum who actually knows how to correct this, I'd appreciate your assistance.
The phone seems to be working properly right now.
As I stated in my post, "My concern is that if I have a problem with the phone at some point, Verizon may say : "Sorry, this is a non-verizon device, can't help you."
I guess it also bothers me a bit that they just can't get this right.
You have the reciept and the box it came in right? That's all you will ever need if a problem arises and 9 times outa 10 you're better off taking it back to Apple any way
Help has arrived. I am sorry to hear that your device is showing up as a non-VZW device. Let's get this fully resolved. I have Private Messaged you and will be able to assist further there.

I'm experiencing a similar problem with my wife's Moto X. It was purchased directly from Verizonwireless.com last year. On my account it always showed correctly as a Moto X until about 3 weeks ago. We had to remove the sim card. When it was reinserted, the device started to display as a "Non-VZW Device" on My Verizon. I've spoken to 3 or 4 different csr/techs at Verizon, and was told the IMEI is showing as a dummy phone. Was told either a) they would fill out a form and submit it to have the phone's original IMEI placed back in the system. It should take 24-48 hours. Or b) they entered it directly in the computer and it should take 24 hours to update. It's now been almost a month (3 1/2 weeks), and the phone still shows up as a "Non-VZW Device". I've also direct messaged on Twitter, with pictures/screenshots, and was told it would be fixed. Still no resolution. Today I went into a corporate Verizon store (not an authorized retailer) with the phone. The agent there tried to fix it, even activating a ghost phone on the account and switching it back to the Moto X, but it's still not recognizing the device.
Granted, the phone is working fine right now, but I'm concerned if there is a problem, or when an update is pushed, the phone won't receive it. Also concerned there will be an issue when its time to upgrade. Worried all these attempts to fix it will mess up my grandfathered unlimited data plan as well as my "Talk, Text plus Data" discount.
If there is a Verizon Support person monitoring this forum who has the knowledge on how to fix this issue, please contact me as I'd like to resolve this asap. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The system showing as a non verizon device wont affect anything at all. Yes its a eye sore but thats about the extent of the problem
Mine is doing the same thing just moved from ATT all other devices show up just fine all were on the same Verizon order, and actually you cant change your plan or add lines while it says non-vzw-device
I had this happen to me too. I went to a store and a rep called in and was able to get it so I could change my plan and all but it never stopped showing as non-VZW device.
For those concerned about warranty, when you purchase a device in a VZW corporate store the system tags your account with the ESN and Transaction ID number on your receipt plus keeps a copy of the receipt with this information. I wouldn't worry about it as long as you can make changes to your account.
