Why are the Data speeds on my Pixel 2 so slow

I just switched to Verizon and bought a pixel 2 for myself. I went with the Go unlimited plan for unlimited data because when I was on At&t I got overage charges a lot, but then again their data was faster and more reliable than this.

Why is my data so slow?

Telling me to get a different phone isn't an answer.

With the GoUnlimited plan, your data can be re-prioritized at any time you are on a congested tower. With the BeyondUnlimited plan, this does not happen until you have consumed 22 GB of data in a month.
