I Am trying to set up message + on my iPad, but never recieve the code no matter what I try. I am using Verizon messages at the moment because there is no service at all where I am. Verizon messages does not have any trouble sending or receiving short code messages as I have tested that as well.
I run into the same problem every time I try to log into my Verizon, where it requires a temporary security code that I never recieve either. You would think that Verizon services would at least be able to effectivly communicate with other Verizon services but that seems pretty far from reality.
You would need to be in a service area to receive a security code as they are sent to the phone number via SMS. If the device isn't in a service area it wouldn't have a way to receive those messages from Verizon. That's the only way they're able to authenticate that it's actually you requesting to sync your messages to an application on a device that isn't activated with your number. Otherwise, it would be much easier for someone to sync your phones messages to thier devices without your knowledge.
SO you are saying it will only be sent to the device and not to the my messages portion of my Verizon website?
That hardly makes sense as access to that portion of the website already gives access to all of the text messages I would send or receive. Wouldn't I get some error message instead of nothing?
THe my Verizon site if far more difficult to get into compared to the device itself either way........
Message history will not reflect messages NOT received by the phone itself. If the phone doesn't receive the message via SMS (not data) then the history will not reflect that message. The message goes to the phone first and then the history.
If that is the case then I would not recieve any messages at all because my phone is completely unable to operate where I am? (Zero service, so it has been off for the last two months. However, I still get texts to Verizon messages online, just no security code........
Being able to access your messages is definitely important so I completely understand your concern Vryflustered.
Just so I understand correctly, are you trying to reset your My Verizon password and not getting the temporary PIN? Where are you located (zip)?

I an having this exact issue. Doesn't matter If I send the code from a computer even. Security access codes never come through as a text message like they should.
Ravingswifey, we definitely want you to get your security codes. Let's work together to get this fixed. How long has this been going on? What device are you using?
I am having the same issue. I was having a problem with my ipad Message+ app. It was not syncing with the server. So, I uninstalled it. My iPad is WIFI only and not hooked up with Verizon data. I reinstalled Message+ and now it keeps asking me to generate a code after putting in the phone number associated with the account and I keep getting a message that that it is unable to generate a PIN and to try again “sometime later”. Which if have done and it keeps happening. I am on my home wifi with the iPad along with the phone.
I never had this issue before so I don’t know what to do. I have been using Message+ for years (although it does not sync as expected on the iPad - so that part is lousy). Thanks.
