I currently receive the $25 device payment discount for financing an iPhone 6S. The screen on that device shattered. Rather than paying a few hundred dollars to fix it, I was hoping to switch that line to another device that I own. I plan to continue making payments on the broken iPhone, but service will be deactivated. Will I lose the $25 discount if I switch to the other device, since the iPhone is no longer "associated" with that line? Thanks
I can't remember if you lose the discount, there should be some older threads about this, but did want to provide some...information. If only the screen in damaged, you can get it fixed through Apple for around $130-$150 - more if there is internal damage. If you activate a new phone on that line, it won't be deactivated, it will simply be moved to that new phone; same phone number, same service etc. If they use the same SIM card, you can just pull the SIM from the cracked phone and put it in the other phone.
If you stay on your current plan you will continue to get the discount. (The plan you are on has 40.00 access fees. With a device payment you get $25.00 credit) (New plans are 20.00 access fees) some scenarios your plan is better some times not. Play with the numbers. I decided to change mine cost was a bit more but I wanted the extra data and carryover.
