I transferred my phone number and phone to another carrier.
I read somewhere that once that is completed that my Verizon contract will automatically terminate. Is this true or do I have to call and request it to be terminated?
I am aware that I will have to pay about $140ish in ETF and will that be added to my current bill?
Also, today is when my payment is due for my plan. Is that payment for the next month of the end of February & beginning of march and if so, will that be removed from my bill since the plan will be terminated?

Once you port out to another carrier your line at verizon is canceled.
If you ported out before your bill closing date say the day before your next bill is due you would not owe for the next month, since its pay in advance. You will however still owe any early termination fees if you left before your contract is up.
If you ported out on the start date of your next billing cycle you would have to pay for that month even though you won't be using it.
