We can't see your account on this peer to peer public community forum. Which plan do you have and is the phone under contract or a device payment agreement?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
If you have a 24 month device payment plan, it appears on your bill as such and you can pay it off.
It will read X of Y payment. Balance $xxx
Service contracts cannot be paid off. Service contracts do not appear as a separate line item on the bill as a phone payment, but would be combined with line access.
Paying off device payments does remove the installments from your bill and lower the monthly bill.
How much will my bill go down after I pay my phone off at the end of my 2 year contract?
This would all depend on what plan you have.
First of all, I assume you are speaking of a 2 yr contract to purchase a phone with monthly payments and not a 2 yr service contract.
IF you are on the Verizon Plan, your monthly bill would drop by the monthly phone payment you no longer have to make.
IF you are on an older, grandfathered Share Everything plan, it becomes a bit more complicated. When you purchase a phone on a payment plan, you receive a discount on your line access fee depending on your data allowance. You get a $25/month discount if you have a 6 GB or higher data allowance and a $15/month discount if you have less than a 6 GB data allowance. You will lose this discount once you pay off your phone, so while your monthly phone payment will no longer be on your bill, the monthly discount will no longer be there either. This could mean your monthly bill could go up OR down depending on your discount and the amount of your monthly phone payment.
As you can see, it is impossible to give an accurate answer with the information you have provided.
I never liked the way Verizon structured this. Att gives an out of contract discount on the line automatically. No need to call and get a different discount applied.
Being able to lower your bill is important. Checking what your bill amount will be is a great way to stay on top of your finances. As mentioned by the members in this forum we would not know how much your bill will go down if you were to pay off your device. The best way to calculate this would be to subtract your payment amount from your overall bill per month and this would give you your estimated total. Do you know what your payment amount is per month for your device?
