i have my cousin and his wife on my plan and they are constantly running the bill up and paying late if i go the AOL route can i have them just take over this account and assume the past due amount and then me just start another account or would i have to catch up the bill first?
If they assume the line, assuming they are credit approved to do so, and they agree to take on the back balance. You could transfer (as long as it's not an Edge agreement) their 2 lines to 1 account and keep your own separate account. No need in starting a new account after the AOL or separation.
Take a look at the AOL FAQ here: My Verizon | Verizon Wireless
Most likely, the account would have to be brought current before and AOL could take place. Once the account is current, then your cousin and his wife would do an AOL for their lines - they would have to pass a credit check, a deposit may be required, and your account would remain the same, less their two lines.
mhorne12, let's start fresh. You would be required to bring the account current prior to allowing them assume responsibility of the lines. As a result, the past due balance must be paid first. Your cousin or wife would be subject to a credit check. If a security deposit is needed, it will have to be paid prior to transferring those lines into their name.
