Hi, I have 2 smartphone lines with unlimited data plans which, as I understand, are no longer available with new service, and I will be going out of the country for at least 2 months and am interested in suspending service. I watched the tutorial and began the process to do it, but was only presented with one option of continuing to be billed - with the stated reason that my line charge is less than $10 per month (I believe it is $9.99 per month, per line, for line access, but data and other features cost extra beyond that). I am ok with the $10 per month charge, but I want to confirm a few things. First, will the additional charges including the unlimited data charge be suspended during that time? And most importantly, can it be confirmed that the unlimited data feature will definitely be resumed when the line is re-connected, and there will be no issues due to it not being a currently available plan?
Lastly, I want one of those lines to forward my calls to another number (a Skype number) while I am away. For call forwarding to be in effect, may the line be suspended or does it have to be active?
I would appreciate any information, especially confirmation that the unlimited data feature will be unaffected by suspension. Thanks!
How exciting to be going on a trip out of the country. We certainly want to ensure that your line is set up properly for you. Allow us to clear up a few things in regard to suspending service. You have 2 options: With Billing or Reduced Rate. You are able to suspend your service for up to 90 days (per 12 month period) at a reduced rate of $10.00 per month. If you have a device payment plan, though, you will continue to be billed for it.
If you suspend your line, it will not have any effect on yor plan itself. The only time a plan can be changed is if you personally change it. You will still be on the same plan once you un-suspend your service. You may check out more about our suspend service here: http://vz.to/1fk6qpp (see Other Voluntary Suspension).
Finally, in order to forward calls, your line would need to be active in order to utilize the call forwarding feature.

Hi Christine, thanks for all that information. I am still a little confused about one thing: when my line is suspended, keeping in mind i only had the option to supend with billing (screenshot attached), will i be paying just the ine access fee of $10, or will i still be paying for any premium services like unlimited data, visual voicemail, etc? I understand that I could remove these features and there would be no question of charges, but then I would be unable to add the data package back, so this is not an option.

We want to be sure to clear up any confusion about the reduced billing suspend DARWAD28. The $10.00 reduced billing option would only apply to plans with a line access fee higher than $10.00. I know you mentioned that your line access fee is $9.99 so your plan would not be eligible for the reduced billing option. Additionally, since you do want to forward your calls, the line would need to remain active to accomplish this. Does that provide clarity?
