I have been stuck on 8a for 2 weeks now. I have spent several hours on the phone with customer service, but nothing seems to work.

Have you searched/looked thru all the other threads relating to this?  Some have found that if they 'Enable IPSec Passthrough'  in their router it fixes their problem.

I have read that and am trying to figure out how to enable it. I am using google wifi and don't see that as an option in the settings.

Hello, I am having this same issue. I have a 4G LTE Network extender 2 and it has been stuck on 8a. It used to work fine when i initially set up but stopped working few weeks/months ago. Please assist.

Nope.  That link goes to a FIOS WiFi Extender page NOT the 4G LTE Network Extender for cell signal extension.
