Iphone conects to network extender but Samsung Galaxy S6 does not?

My Samsung Galaxy S6 (Android Version 5.1.1) is no longer connecting to my network extender.  #48 gives me the Verizon message that "Call cannot be completed as dialed...".  However, my wife's Apple IPhone 5C does connect as confirmed by #48 providing the network extender id and also the double beep when making calls.

My phone has recently been chewing battery - not even lasting 15 hours which caused me to start checking the network extender connectivity.  The network extender is working fine - 4 blue LED's - and I have definitely been connected in the past.  I cannot be sure when this problem started - perhaps after the last Android upgrade??

I have tried managing the network extender to change from "open" to specific priority numbers.  The IPhone continues to connect but the Samsung phone does not.

I have tried restating the network extender and the Samsung phone.

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

We are here to help you stay connected. I apologize for the issue. It can be difficult dealing with this. There's some great information provided here. We need to focus on that s6. Has there been any other issues or error messages? When you performed the update, did it error out?  Please try settings/battery. There will be a list of items and a percentage of the battery used. Please supply us with the top 3 names and percentages.  We will figure this out together. Last thing, when you said that you reset the phone, what did you mean?

I experienced no problems with my last system update and no other issues or error messages with the S6.

Overnight, with no usage, my battery is down 50% with the top 3: Android system 29%, Android OS 8% and Cell standby 8%.

Correction - I did not reset the phone.  I did a shut down and restart.

Your troubleshooting efforts are appreciated. Let's keep diving in here and see what could possibly be causing this. Please place the phone in Safe Mode http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-152233/ and advise if you are able to connect to the network extender in that mode. You can dial #48 to verify if it is registered to the extender.

I restarted the phone in safe mode but it still would not connect to the

network extender. #48 resulted in the Verizon message "Your call could not

be completed as dialed..."

You are doing so great and we really appreciate your continued cooperation. Let's keep chipping away at this. While I know that the extender is working for your wife's device, let's do a quick restart for it as well and then try to connect your phone. If that does not work, I would recommend backing up your phone and then performing a factory reset http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-152189/

Restarted the network extender. No change - Samsung S6 does not connect,

IPhone does connect.

Performed a factory reset on the S6. No change - Samsung S6 does not

connect, IPhone does connect.

I also tried powering off the IPhone but S6 still did not connect.

Then this evening tried my daughter's Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android

5.0. It did NOT connect. Extender was in open mode,

Thanks again for that a shot and for keeping us updated. We definitely want to get your line connected like everyone elese. You mentioned that there was a recent update and while there may be no issue with the update itself, sometimes settings can be adjusted depending on what the update was. The network extender would be for CDMA service, so there are a couple settings we can check to ensure that is what your device is using. To start let's make sure that Advanced Calling is not enabled as this would require LTE and would not work with the extender. Advanced calling is not enabling.

But your suggestion got me thinking so I changed the Mobile Networks

setting from Global to CDMA and the phone connected to the network

extender! I then changed back to Global and the phone remained connected

to the extender. Just to be sure, I restarted the phone and yes, network

extender is connected. Problem solved!
