Model SLS-BU108. Has been working for long time. Now it is stuck in step 4 of 14 of start up mode. I have unplugged and tried reset but nothing happens

Do you mean 4G LTE Network Extender 2 model SLS-BU10B?  Step 4 of the startup from the user guide is Software Initializing.  It could be the software has become corrupted and a software reload (not sure how) might help.

...Just another VZW customer...trying to offer some assistance...
