someone's Network Extender killed my service

It's near impossible to get tech support live on the phone. I can't use two of the three phones on my plan while at my home. Normal monthly payments for service will resume when this issue has been resolved. I will not go door to door in the neighborhood and attempt to locate the owner of this device. I can provide you with the switch number and you can contact them or have them contact me Verizon.

If you have an Android you can install LTE Discovery which would help you narrow it down and verify that it is a network extender in the area.

I have a galaxy s4. When I dial #48. It not only tells me that it is an

extender, but gives me the switch number as well.

And what exactly is it you think they are going to do? Tell that customer to stop using their network extender?

I don't care what "they" do. I had great service and now I do not because

of an issue caused by a device that a a private verizon customer owns. It

is now a privacy issue. "They" created the problem, solve it

If you had great service before then why is someone using a network extender?

How is it a privacy issue and how is it affecting your service?

Our texts and calls now originate from this private device.  The Mac address/phone number of our handsets can also be determined. The owner of the device can control data in/out of the device or view the data. I would say our privacy contract is being  violated

Will users of my Network Extender be able to intercept or listen in on each other’s conversations?

No, all calls using the Network Extender are private and secure for all callers (even those not on the priority list).      Callers using the Network Extender benefit from the same security and privacy as the Verizon Wireless network.
It is as secure as the rest of the Verizon Network hardware.
The drawbacks are that yes they can unplug the device either from power or ethernet and cause you problems but on the other hand your use of their device is potentially costing them depending on how much bandwidth you are using and what internet provider they have if they are limited (say comcast for instance in select cities).

Opinions vary on the security of the device. All I can do is drop calls

since it has been installed. My service was flawless until that stupid

symbol showed up
