A call went out on my Scanner all units all units go to the 100 blk of da da da to put out a house fire caused by a BBQ cooker that's right up next to the House..

You don't have to be a Chef to cook, But when the BBQ lights up the House it best to Cook well away from it.. Smart choices in Life tends to keep us and what we live in a Safe Manner.. Please Cook Safely..

OMG.  what a way to ruin dinner.  The people I bought my house from left their gas grill because the condo they moved to prohibits them.  That seems to be a trend.  Condo and apartments don't allow grilling.  My parents are in a planned elder community with same rules.

I Love the smell of burning meat in the morning!

I Saw this happen couple summers ago at a house.  Grill next to house, unattended, catches fire, house lighting up very quickly with grease fed fire.

I wanted to reply but got busy m23d.. since you mentioned what ya did on Apt.'s and cookers:  I wanted to tell you about our situation where we Live in an Apt. an with cookers about ( 5 ) years ago my older brother surprised me an my folks with a small outdoor cooker that you can use in small areas that Christmas but the folks had him take it back until we asked if it was OK to use it,  we kindly asked the Landlord  if it was OK he didn't right away have an Answer but in a Letter a few weeks later he said any Grills  gas or electric were not ALLOWED this even included the Electric George Foreman Grill..

In the letter it went on to say unfortunately I can't let anyone have a Grill due to my Insurance.. Coverage

Well as Time passed he some where hooked up with another Insurance Carrier or the Insurance he had finally Dropped the part that All cookers were now allowed and as New people moved in so came with them was there Cookers some of them m23d were the Big Gas Cookers which I imagine you've see before.. they were so big they took up most of space on the upper porches some renters brought with them the old Charlcoal Grills which if your careful with them they can get out of Hand with the Starter Fluid..

We've had 2 Neighbors that's moved in and then have moved out and have used there Grill and we Like to have our Doors open and enjoy the Fresh Air but when Cookers are open Guess were the Smoke Goes not in there Apt. in ours we've mentioned this to the Landlord but as usual he just shrugs it off..

Here's the Part I really wanted to tell ya and other members that read the thread not to Long we had A visit from the one of the Fire Captains he & his Crew they were checking the Smoke Detectors & Extinguishers in the building making sure they were up to code and were working..

Asked me & my folks and a few others that lived there about the Grills being on the upper & Lower Porches he was not happy seeing them up there because if they got out of Control there's really no way to move them off the porch so where kind a waiting to see if anything is going to be Done I'm hoping they go..  I as well like smell the Aroma of a good  Steak Cooking but not in conditions like they are here..

There's a guy in my apartment complex that thinks he has to have a big 5 foot flame shooting out of his grill to get it going! I give him credit though, he keeps it a good distance from the building and monitors it the whole time. I've been thinking of purchasing my own fire extinguisher because I just don't trust the ones in my building.

I don't grill out because it seems like such a huge waste of time for just myself.
