Personally I am on T-Mobile. My work line is Verizon. If Verizon had a plan around $300 unlimited Everything for 5 lines with phones or $250 without phones I would go back for my personal lines.  Right now I have that with T-Mobile for $220 without phones.

T-Mobile is one of the absolute worst in my area for call quality and number of dropped calls. I would use two tin cans and a string before I would consider their service.

However, they are rapidly expanding in my area.

The way i read that article says to me that T-Mobile will pay your ETF ...IF you decide to stay with them past the 14 day period.  If you do not, then you either pay Verizon the ETFs or, since the "win-back" dept still "exists" you could just go back to Verizon within, what is it, 30 days?  Still, it might be just the bump some people need to give it a try.  I guess too, a positive is that T-Mobile has no fee for trying and not buying since it said that they will refund any trial costs, along with any costs required for starting your service back up at Verizon.

All Verizon would have to do is have some kind of Unlimited Plan come about and there would herds of Customers jumping ship of the other 3 Carriers actually 4 I forgot to mention U.S. Cellular my Niece and her Husband Left U.S. Cellular even after 4G came into our Area because the way they were Hammering them on the Data that U.S.C said  they were using..

Verizon wouldn't even have to do Unlimited LTE data.  They could still have a throttled-after-cap plan detail or even rate the amount of data much higher for the same price, but remember, VZW is after the quality customer who sees the value in a strong reliable network and knows that to get that, they must pay a bit better.  I guess it's a judging stick of sorts:  if they did what the "lesser" carriers did, that would equate to a Mercedes dealership lowering prices to compete with Ford, at least in Verizon's eyes.

The customer gains and losses are getting interesting.  I wonder how long Verizon will le T-Mobile gain more than a million more than Verizon per quarter?

It's funny... If you look at it. People left Verizon to go to T-Mobile. Most of them come back. You can see the trend. People end up getting stuck due to being on EIP and can't move back until that's completed. Verizon knows this and why they don't do a thing.

Most of those customers that T-Mobile keeps are Sprint customers. That's how T-Mobile is now number 3.

This is true, but how does a company get bigger?  More customers, bigger coverage, maybe lower pricing?  If T-Mobile plays the customer come and go game long enough to buy more spectrum, increase coverage, and even keep prices in check, the 2 and 3 spots get closer in count.  The day will come when things even out some and no 2 companies are so far ahead of the others.

They are cheating on their coverage right now. I'll put money down they drop unlimited in the new few years at their growth even with the new spectrum. I use T-Mobile for my personal lines, but my work lines are Verizon. Every trip I take T-Mobile give the perceived notion they are expanding but they really are not. Right now all they are doing is swapping coverage, but they are losing money on their uncarrier moto which most of that money can actually be used to broaden their coverage.

Also true.  Word games are a big favorite among all carriers.  More people ( total subscribers or ability to reach more) vs more coverage (in what areas) vs faster speeds (but where, when and what)

SOPHISTRY

I can't wait to use that in the next meeting. The day is full of sophistry, just of to pick the right time to use it!

HA!  I tried about 25 synonym phrases for "deceptive word play" before finding that.  Almost thought I would have to make up a word and submit it to Webster's.

Verizon's goat ain't gettin' got yet:

Despite all this talk about churn and high credit customers and whatnot....losing a customer is losing money and at some point it has to be noticed.  Obviously, people aren't leaving Verizon in some mass exodus, but still....nothing t's-off a big boy more than the little guy gettin' his goat.  Verizon may have a set limit as to when they fire back with some promo, and if Verizon bends their own rules, it might be Earth shattering.  That would be great PR for VZW.
