Verizon's website is not allowing users to pay their bill. Why?

I have often wondered why when I attempted to pay my bill on-line, Verizon always wants to text me, to verify that it is me. For the last 4 days their system has been failing. When you call 'customer service', they know nothing about it. How can this be Verizon? You're a fairly large company. Get some IT folks to work and fix the problem. I will not be paying any late fees when your system is broken. 11 years makes me a pretty good customer...
