No Tracking Info from UPS for Returned Device

I received a new phone covered by the warranty and immediately boxed up and shipped my old phone. I've been checking tracking on UPS and it is saying "We could not locate the shipment details for this tracking number. Details are only available for shipments made within the last 120 days. Please check your information." I don't want to be charged for this device. How can I ensure Verizon received the phone??
