I have a question about the return policy for defective phones. Through my Verizon's extended warranty, I contacted Verizon on September 26th about a defect in my Samsung Galaxy flip 4.
The person on the phone was very understanding and they submitted for me to get a replacement phone, the original date that I was supposed to get it was September 30th. I did not receive my order until October 1st, this is proven from UPS's tracking app.
I currently work long hours and did not open my box until today, Friday October 4th. When I opened my box I saw in the slip that I have 5 days to return my old defective phone.
My question is does the 5-day return window begin on the same day that you receive your phone. Or does it start the day after.
Secondly, I'm returning the phone tomorrow October 5th. Based off me receiving the phone on October 1st I should still be in the realm of the 5-day return policy. However since Verizon assumed I would be getting it on September 30th, do I need to contact Verizon stating that I got it a day later?
Lastly for the 5-day return policy was the phone meant to be received by Verizon within 5 days or do I just need to ship it out within 5 days?
I apologize for such a long message I've just seen so many threads about Verizon charging for the full amount immediately after the fifth day and I am concerned and paranoid because I do not have that type of money in my bank account. That along with the confusing threads of the app stating I have 30 days to return it but the Box stating I have five I did not know which one was accurate in what needs to be done on my end for returning the phone.
Regardless, the phone will be returned tomorrow October 5th to be within that 5-day window of receiving the phone October 1st.
