Cannot find help for return on Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller - Despite many hours of trying

I ordered an Elite Series 2 controller during one of the holiday sales and it arrived with a broken right thumbstick. So far, several hours on the phone to 1.800.880.1077, 1.833.VERIZON, and numerous numbers I have been directed to by customer service. No one seems to be able to access this order or help me, even with the order number from the invoice or the confirmation code. The big hangup seems to be that I am not a wireless customer -- so I have no online access, and the customer service representatives have no idea what to do with me. The return window for holiday purchases is running out -- I show that these controllers are in stock on the website, and just need to find the right person who can initiate an exchange. Has anyone had a similar experience?
