My son returned his old cellphone using the Verizon supplied return package. He received a text from Verizon advising warehouse had received package on 7/3/2023.
Next, we hear from Verizon that we are now being charged a non-return fee of $659.99. Ticket was issued.
As of today, 9/12/23, we still have Verizon ignoring their own 7/3/23 text message advising they have received the returned cellphone. They have told me they expect my payment by late this month.
It has become clear that Verizon has lost the returned phone internally and rather than accept that loss themselves, they are forcing the loss back to their customer.
I've read similar horror stories on this site with seemingly similar results from Verizon.
My wife has been a Verizon customer for over 30 years and we've returned many phones thru the mail like this one....all with no issues.
I regret this. But its time to move onto a different cellphone company. What a pity.
