Why am I getting the runaround when trying to cancel an order?!

I ordered a phone and paid for expedited shipping. The day that it was supposed to get here it hadn’t even shipped. I contacted customer support and they said they could change it so that I could pick it up in the store that night. But then also told me it would take three hours but the store would close in one hour. So then I told them to switch it back to shipping to my house. I contacted customer support the next day to make sure it would ship, but was then told that they didn’t have any in the warehouse. Customer support then found a local store and said they have one in stock and they could switch my order to curbside pick up and I could pick it up the next day. Two days later I went to the store to try try and pick it up, and they had no record of an order being placed there. At this point, I just wanted to cancel the order to buy a phone in the store, and after being on the phone With customer support for 30 minutes, they said they submitted a ticket to get it canceled. Now my ticket says they can’t cancel it and I have to contact some other number. This is ridiculous! Why is it so hard to cancel when it hasn’t shipped and they apparently don’t even have the phone in stock anywhere!!!

It definitely should not take this much effort to cancel. Let's take a closer look to see if there's something else deeper going on that's preventing the cancellation. We'll need to partner in private messages so that we can collect more details.
