2 Factor Authentication Issues

Verizon website authentication is a mess!! I work in a facility where I cant have my cell phone turned on or with me.  I used to be able to log into VZ online to send text messages and authenticate via email.  They removed that capability.  I turned off 2 factor authentication because it ONLY gives you the option to use your cell to verify.  Now with it turned off, it STILL forces me to use my phone to verify.  Why does Verizon make it near impossible for customers to access their accounts??? We have passwords, security questions, pin access for account changes, and you still make us verify via our cell??? Stop assuming that customers will always have their cell phone to verify something, it's frustrating!!

Hey there, BBonlinejunkie, I'm sorry for the trouble when trying to access My Verizon. To make sure we have a clear understanding, are you only seeing an option for a push notification and no option to enter your password?

There is an option for push notification and password.  I always select password. After entering my password, it tells me that they have to make sure it's me and to respond to the notification sent to my cell phone.  It does this every time  even with 2 factor authentication turned OFF.

Thank you for reaching out to us lilly70. There have been some updates with our verification process, some of them which allow you to have more control over your account security. Via the following link you can go ahead and disable or enable the tw-factor authentication for your mobile account: https://www.verizon.com/onesearch/search?q=Set%20up%20two-factor%20authentication%20for%20my%20mobil...

I have the same issue. 2FA is off, but it forces me to do 2FA every single time I login. It doesn’t matter if I just logged in a minute ago, it still requires 2FA. I have tried toggling 2FA on and then off, but nothing works.

I am having the same issue.  It is very frustrating, 2 FA is off but still asked to verify what is the point in even having an option to turn it off.  I do t have access to my phone at work so use web browser on laptop and now I can’t get on my acct

We're sorry to hear that you're still having problems with 2FA. We want to make sure you're able to access your account whenever you need, and we'll do everything we can to help. Have you tried using a different browser or clearing your cookies/cache? Are you using a VPN?

I am having the same issue as everyone else. 2FA is off on my account but logging into Verizon.com will force me to execute 2FA every time. I am not using a VPN and I am using the same laptop and browser to login each time.

It is very frustrating because I also cannot take my cellphone into work. I wish I could just use my username, password, and/or PIN to login to my account.
