Last June 15, 2024, we tried to add a new line with Verizon. Since we didn't finish the checkout process, we received an email that we can take advantage of the $200.00 gift card for completing the said order. We went ahead and clicked on the link and even confirmed with the chat rep that yes a $200.00 gift card will be mailed along with the new phone.
After two days, we got the phone and the gift card. Upon using the gift card, I was informed by the supervisor that I can use it after 30days. Yes I was so excited of purchasing some accessories using the GC and even chatted with several agents and none of them were of help. On the 31st day, I used the gift card again and encountered the same problem. It says it's not active. Chatted with another rep and was told that she created a ticket for it. Didn't hear any update after which. After a week or two, chatted with another rep again and same response - ticket and wait! On the 4th contact, I was given a different response that is, to go to a local Verizon store and they'll be able to help me activate my gift card. So I drove for an hour and 30minutes and was told by a rep that gift cards should already be active and she can't do anything about it since she didn't sell it. Yes I have to ask her to check the GC balance and she smirked at me stating that it's balance is $0.0. I showed her the receipt which I printed from my account and told her that there's no way I can just create a physical gift card, right? She said that Verizon.com only sends gift cards via email. Does she imply that I made the gift card by myself? Since I wasted my time driving to the store, I went ahead and left. When I got home, I asked for an email address which I can send an email to with regard to the promotion I got and a copy of the gift card I received but all I heard are crickets!
Any of y'all have this experience? How was it resolved?
