Account Hack, no detail

I just received this email from  Verizon:

"...between May 30th and June 28th, 2023, we identified unauthorized activity associated with your Fios account, indicating that an unknown third party may have had access to your account information, which includes your name, telephone number, billing address, service plans, and other service-related information."

That's it - no detail, no apology, no offer of account monitoring service. Apparently Verizon is the only company to allow hackers to access your account without any real response.

So Verizon allowed hackers to access our account for a month, roaming around and downloading what? Did they get all the phone numbers called and received, web sites visited, credit card numbers, voice mails, etc.? How do we find out the extent of the hack and what Verizon will do to protect our customer data?

Yep, usual horrible Verizon response. Still nothing on their web site. After multiple attempts of navigating their braindead chat system and then customer service line I finally was able to talk to a real person. She found the email in my record, and read it to me not once but twice, even though I told her it was right in front of me.  Then she clicks on the provided link and yep, says that link is useless (like I already said). Then she goes off for a 20 minute chat with Verizon Fraud department.

Comes back and tells me to send the email to phishingatverizondotcom like it was a phishing attempt EVEN THOUGH she sees it in my record as being sent FROM VERIZON!

I tell her I need to know what was exposed in the hack of their system and what they will do about  it. She tells me to change ALL my email passwords in case the hackers have them - and insists on this even though I explain my email addresses are Google based and no passwords are kept on Verizon.

Then she says to cancel all my credit cards like that's a trivial matter.

My head is about to explode. It's scary that Verizon is my pipe to the entire internet. The plumber is deranged and incompetent.

By the way, here's what a responsible, responsive company does when they allow an unauthorized access to happen. This was from a company providing consumer services to us and had a hack that lasted two days, not a month! Meanwhile, crickets from Verizon...
