If you've a 10+ year old set-top, you may be on an ancient plan.  You should definitely review their current offerings to see if you can get a better deal.  Their website is the best place to start.  Note the current offerings may not be better, but if you don't check, you won't know.  Verizon will not proactively tell you if a better deal is available.

If you decide to upgrade, keep these points in mind:

  • Once you upgrade, you can't go back to old plans that are no longer offered.  Make sure you understand all the features and costs before you accept the upgrade.
  • Current set-top boxes are quite different than the old models.  If you have ancient TVs that don't use HDMI, you may need to stay with the old box and old plan.

For best results, I recommend you reach Verizon via social media.  Either tweet @Verizonsupport or DM them on their Facebook page.  They can help you either replace your current box and understand if an upgrade make sense.
