Deceased Line

I tried to work something out with Verizon since one of the line on my account belonged to my father that passed away.  I explained that I will keep the account open for the reminder of the agreement but have to cancelled the line. Since he still has a device agreement, they just care about that we pay for the reminding balance.  Even though, the phone is technically paid for through the trade in that they will not honor cause the line it’s associated is cancelled.  I was told that the agreement is for the line on the account not a person. Also added that if I don’t pay the full amount of the bill, then I will start to incurred late fee.  So at the end of the day, all Verizon care about is money.
