Former Customer Unable to Access Account

I was a longtime Verizon Wireless customer until recently changing cell phone providers because I was tired of Verizon constantly raising their prices and their lack of customer support. I received an email from Verizon today about me owing them a whopping $0.81. I have tried every possible way to log into my account -- using my user name, not my phone number; tried to reset my user name using my email and billing zip code; also tried the access it through the disconnected account page and nothing. I always get an error saying my information does not match the records on file. I chatted with support online and they were no help. I also attempted to use the "one-time bill pay" page, but since I was enrolled in paperless billing, I do not have my entire account number and thus cannot pay or access my account this way either.
It's as if Verizon deleted all traces of me, except, ironically, where they say I owe them money. Has anyone had these issues, and if so, how did you resolve them?
Thank you!

Hi DisgruntledFormerCustomer, we get it, we want no surprises from our bills and we want access to manage them online 24/7 when convenient. We can definitely take a look at your account and figure out what could be going on. Are we working with Verizon Fios or Verizon Mobile service?

Thank you for the clarification. In this case, the best option will be to visit a local corporate store so that they can pull up your account information with a valid ID.
