Google text app vs Message+

I sent photos from Google text app from my Samsung 23+ to 3 Iphones. All said they were blurry. When I switched to the Samsung text app they were received fine.
Why make us switch to Google text app when it is not compatible and there are issues? I can't believe that the Google text app is the "best" there is. From what I've read most are happy with the Message+ app so why switch?
AND will this Google text app eat into our google data so we are "forced" to buy more space?

If you don't have your texts, etc. set to automatically back up into your Google account, it's not going to fill up the storage space on your Google Drive.
As for the blurry photos, try turning off RCS chats in the Google Messages to see if that helps with the iPhone issue, as anything before iOS 18 doesn't support RCS format. Samsung used to have their own messaging app, but they've discontinued it with newer phones.

You're welcome. Verizon's Messages+ has been around for a long time, and with texting becoming ever more sophisticated in what people want to do with it, I think Verizon just didn't want to have to keep maintaining their app to keep up with all the new bells/whistles or keep up with any security risks which could come up. Other Android texting apps are falling by the wayside too, as Samsung has quit doing their own texting app per my previous post. And if you get a Pixel phone, well those are made by Google...
