Has anyone ever had a good experience with customer support?

2 months ago I ordered a new FIOS router, the router that I got has given me problems ever since I got it, to include causing problems with my TV service. After spending hours on the phone with customer support the guy decided the problem I was having was with the router. He's going to send a replacement. Except I never get any kind of confirmation email. I call back the next day and "oh sorry there was a problem I'll get that sent out right away". One week later and "oh that replacement was canceled, you need to change to this new contract in order for us to send a new router".

This isn't my first problem with VZ customer support, is it just me or is this kind of nonsense just their way of mistreating their customers?
