A call to a 1-800 number on my cell phone claims that they number is no longer in service. When I call the same number from my landline, it goes right through.

It is my company's 1-800 number. I was calling in to get the extension number for one of my co-workers. I have called this number in the past from my cell phone and it has worked.
I had another co-worker call the number from their cell and they got through.

Sounds like there is an 800 database lookup error for the server used by the Verizon cellular network. It could be it needs an update to correct the issue. The 800 number is translated to a ten digit number from the database and apparently the lookup done by the cellular network doesn't have the correct ten digit number. Maybe an agent here can open a network ticket to research the issue?

Hi Penny, thanks for bringing your concern forward. I want to make sure you're able to dial the numbers you need to. Do you have this issue with any other 800 number? Have you ever been able to dial this number from your cell phone successfully? Does it make a difference with 1-800 vs 800?

I tried both 1-800 and 800.
I have dialed this number from my phone in the past and it worked.
I have dialed other 1-800 numbers in the past that have worked before.

Who does the 800 number belong to? Maybe if you share it, others can test to see if it works for them. This might help identify whether it is a network issue or a phone/service issue.
