How do I get off a family share plan if I'm not the account owner? However I would like to note I am a account manager on the family plan, would I still need permission from the account owner to switch?

You can transfer a line from your personal account in My Verizon. Here’s how it works:
- The Account Owneror Account Manager of the line being transferred starts the request to transfer.*In My Verizon, the person with legal authority and financial responsibility for an account.

Great question! As Account Manager, you have the same access to vie and make changes, that would include authorizing the Transfer of Service to a new or existing Verizon account.
Account Manager - Has access to account information and most account management options and can manage all lines of service on the account. You can have up to 3 Account Managers. An Account Manager must be at least 18 years old (or 19 if a resident of Alabama or Nebraska). https://www.verizon.com/support/assign-account-manager-roles-faqs/
Transfer your service: https://www.verizon.com/support/transfer-service/overview/
