Landline - NO Caller ID

My Landline does not have caller ID.

I am getting 30-40 messages a week on my home phone VM. The recording sounds like a mechanical sound and it repeats itself.

How can I find the number and report it to VZ?

Hi, it sounds like a robocall which may be getting blocked in some capacity already, hence the reason why you're only hearing some electronic noises and nothing else.  Or else the people behind the robocalls don't know how to use the equipment properly so the bot doesn't ever go on to whatever pitch it was supposed to do.  In any case, landlines are unfortunately exempt from a lot of the anti-spam regulations, which leaves them a favorite target for spam calls and other riffraff.  I did find this on Verizon's website and maybe some of these tips will help.
