Receive VOIP Text - home phone

I have a verizon home phone.  The number used to be a cell number.  I have ran into numerous websites, etc. that want to send a verification code to my number but I can't receive it since it's now a home phone.  I can't have the code sent to an email becauce it's not an option and I can't change my number on these particular sites to send the codes to unless I verify identity with a code they send to the landline number.  Is there a way to receive texts by logging into verizon or something?

Unfortunately, 2 factor authentication at websites is becoming increasingly common.  If you can't login to your current account at said websites, the only recourse you have is to call the business who's running the website and ask them if 2 factor authentication can be shut off for your account.  If that's not possible, you'll have to get a mobile line once again or not use the internet for such sites needing 2FA.

Hi Jobdiesel, I hear your concern as I get verification texts for everything these days as well. There is not a way to get text on the home phone.
