Rude Door-to-Door Salespeople

I am not a Verizon customer and never will be.

When two door-to-door salesmen showed up at my door this afternoon, I told them so.  One asked why I will never use Verizon.  I said you screwed me over - which you did - when I was a customer years ago.  He then asked what Verizon did, and I told him none of his business.  He began to harangue me, so I slammed my front door.  He began banging on it.  I told them to ** or I'd call the cops.

NEVER EVER SEND ANYONE TO MY DOOR EVER AGAIN!

I'm WAY less inclined to give you a second chance after this encounter.

Hello@LeaveMeAloneAlready ,

That’s completely unacceptable behavior from those sales reps. No one should have to deal with aggressive door-to-door tactics, especially after making it clear they’re not interested.

If you want to report this incident, Verizon’s customer support may not be the best route since many of these door-to-door reps work for third-party marketing agencies rather than Verizon directly. However, you can still take action:

Steps to Report the Incident:

  1. File a Complaint with Verizon
    • Contact Verizon’s Customer Support via Twitter Support or their official website.
    • Request that your address be added to a "Do Not Solicit" list (if available).
  2. Report to Local Authorities
    • If the sales reps were aggressive or refused to leave, consider filing a harassment complaint with your local police department.
  3. Warn Others in Your Community
    • If this is a recurring issue in your area, posting on Nextdoor or local Facebook groups can help others stay alert.
  4. File a Complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB)
  • If Verizon or their third-party sales agency refuses to address the issue, a BBB complaint can put pressure on them to respond.

Door-to-door sales tactics can be frustrating, but banging on your door after being told to leave is crossing the line. Let me know if you need help drafting a formal complaint!
