Why is the select legacy unlimited phone plan increasing by $3.00 a line beginning in August 2023?

Mo money for Verizon's $78 billion gross profit. I assume their maket analysis shows few folks will leave due to $3 and the # that leave is far offset by the $millions of extra income. Phone plans have limited competition so are a necessity at a luxury price.

Same question, except my increase is $5 a month. To increase my frustration, Verizon said my plan was increased because I have a "grandfather" plan ---- which uses the term "grandfather" plan in exactly the opposite way of its normal meaning, which is a plan that cannot be changed because it pre-existed later changes.
