My roommate and I share a plan with 2 lines. We each have our own line, but I am the account owner. He would like to move his line to his own account. How can we do this?

As expected, I ran into nothing but problems! My friend tried to follow the request for transfer of service link, but cannot log into verizon. Nothing but problems! Nothing ever goes the way they say it will!
Ok, the question at this point is: why can't my friend login to verizon? Is there a wait period after he created his account? Why can't this process be simpler and explained fully? Previous to this he did not have an account. This cannot be a unique situation! Why can't verizon make this simpler? Very frustrated right now and I can't get any answers!

Wayne371, not to worry, I just had to do this myself with my account. So, the process where your friend moves to his own account but keeps VZ service is called a Transfer of Service. You'll authorize that, and then he'll get information on how to complete it. The whole TYS process can be found at this helpful FAQ: https://www.verizon.com/support/transfer-your-service/

Thanks! Just to be clear, my friend will have to establish his own account first before I begin the transfer of service process. I know, it's kind of obvious, but how can he create his own account without a service line? So he'll have to wait to receive the transfer request without having a phone line associated with his account? Sounds kind of backwards.

We want to make sure you have all the information that you need. In order for your friend to start their service, they do not need an active account. That is part of the process where they would create the account as they accept responsibility for that individual line. You can get more information on option #2 under the Eligibility to transfer service between Verizon accounts section on the above link. Hope this helps.
