Troubleshooting with outstanding balance after closed account

Hello,
I need help contacting someone from Verizon support team. We moved from the US so I closed my Verizon account and returned the equipment. However, I kept getting notifications that the equipment wasn't returned and there was outstanding balance to pay.
I cannot contact anyone from support as the website asks me to sign in - which I cannot do as my account is closed. I am very frustrated and don't know what to do.
Please help.
