Unable to log into my Verizon Mobile account using SMS 2-factor

I am unable to login to my Verizon mobile account online without getting the error: "We're unable to verify your phone. Please sign in using your password." And then I am directed to sign in with my password and security question.

I have scoured my account in search of a way to "verify" my phone number for this, but have had no luck. Seems weird that it can't use my number for this when it is the only number linked to my verizon mobile account.

 

Any advice?

Having the ability to manage your account online is imperative, sgallagr1. I wouldn't be able to survive if I couldn't manage my account online, so I understand the urgency in getting this fixed. It is odd that you're not able to use your number, and we'd like to look into this. Please lookout for a private note from us, so that we can better assist.

I have the same exact problem, however, it used to work until....

Verizon support temporarily moved a different phone number to my primary device in error. Ever since my phone  number came back to my primary device, I must login with password. 

ALSO, (even worse), the My Verizon app makes me log in every single time I open the app. Worse more, I can only login up to three times in a 24 hour period .

Thank you for your message.

I worked with another Verizon rep on Tuesday and he thinks that this is because my account is less than 7 days old. He said to wait a few days and try again, and he will follow up next week to see if that was the case.
