I have wasted COUNTLESS hours being transferred back and forth between wireless and Fios customer service trying to resolve this issue. Yet, it still persist after more than 2 years.
I need to unlink an old Fios account from my current mobile account.
There is no option to do this online, even though the old Fios account has long been closed. I have spoken to multiple agents who assured me that this issue would be resolved by the escalation department, only to come back and find that it is still an issue. I have now become beyond frustrated.
I am exhausted of wasting time on this. Why is something that should be simple so difficult? Would it be easier if I just cancel all of my accounts and start over?

Has anyone at Verizon de-registered your My Verizon account completely, and had you re-register your mobile number later, as if you were a completely new customer? This is what I found on the website regarding this situation. Scroll down the page and open up the section about "How do I change the Verizon home (Fios) account that's associated with my one Verizon ID?"

Thanks for your reply. No, this has never even been suggested. However, I am certainly willing to give it a try.
I have multiple devices with numbers on my mobile account. I wonder if they all need to be de-enrolled together? Can I complete the process online or does an agent need to perform the registration actions? I will investigate further.
I wish I had started here in the forum and not wasted so much of my time. The irony is that I never even wanted to close the old Fios account. Verizon forced me to close it and open/activate a new one when they couldn't transfer my service during a move. It's all so frustrating.

A Verizon agent has to de-register your My Verizon account before you can re-register. But if you have several devices all linked into one account, may be a bigger hassle to have to get them all put back into a new account setup? Especially since the Fios and mobile accounts went through some kind of merging process before. For all I know, trying to merge the current Fios account to your mobile account again after re-registering may even bring back the "zombie" Fios account which isn't being used. If there is some other indicator which you could use to tell the zombie Fios account apart from the current Fios account when you're logged in, might be easier to just take note of that?
This sounds a bit like the issue someone posted about some time back where they've had assorted network extenders over the years and none of them can ever be removed from one's account even if the extenders are broken or outdated technology no longer compatible with the current network infrastructure...
