Hi, sorry to hear about that. The wireless home internet service is using the cell phone towers. And with so many devices wanting to connect to mobile networks these days, network congestion is a very real problem. While I cannot say with 100% certainty, I believe the wireless home internet gateways have lower priority on the towers than cell phones. If the towers in your neighborhood consistently have a lot of traffic on them already, Verizon doesn't want to offer you something that may or may not work - because if the internet gateway is deprioritized too much, it's going to make your data speeds crawl along to where you wouldn't be happy. IMO this is better than a certain competitor, who tries to sell their similar internet product to anyone and everyone without necessarily considering if their network has the capacity to handle the extra traffic.
The area which I live has a lot of network congestion and the closest Verizon store has the home internet service display all the way in the back of the store. (Fios isn't available where I live.) However, another Verizon store just a few miles outside of town has their home internet service display at the front of the store. 😉
My sister is using Verizon wireless internet for several years if not months ago. Therefore to test how accurate it would be about availability. I should of included the fact that it was her address which is our address to get it too. Rather than ask her for the password she would be paying however me getting it for free. Therefore checking your ads for availability for people nearest us 10 to 20 feet away and our house at the same address shows - Not Available. Looks like I need to stay with Cox or do more research.
