Weird texts from 899000

Is this real? My Verizon account makes no mention and this address has text me before saying welcome to Mexico and Cuba (both times when I was there) and from the vzw number

It appears to be a valid message from Verizon. Whether it is valid for you is up to you to determine.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

As a prepaid customer, I get texts from 899000 telling me when my autopay has processed and my plan has renewed.  Don't know if postpaid and business customers get texts from this same short code.

If one's account hasn't had any changes made to it when you login to My Verizon, I'd say this text is smishing.  Sc*mmers are getting better all the time with how they run their cons, unfortunately.  Hope the OP didn't tap that link.

I get one from that number every time I log into my account with Verizon Wireless.

Helpme997, that number is one used by Verizon, but if you're ever unsure if a text is legitimate or not, we recomend taking the safe route and not clicking any unknown links and instead reaching out to us directly. You can find our contact information here: https://www.verizon.com/support/contact-us/
