Why is my phone dropping the eSIM?

I purchased 2 zFlip5 yesterday. I fought with them to get them activated, and went back to the store for assistance. The store charged me $30 each phone to activate. The (word I can't say here) of a manager sent me on my way. This morning, as soon as my wife and I left our home, the phones stopped working. They work in wifi only. I have spent the last 6 hours on the phone with Verizon, and they keep telling me to just set up a new eSIM, which I have done a dozen times now. Why can't I just get a physical SIM card? Why is my phone doing this? Did I get ripped off? Why can't anyone at Verizon do anything about it?

The store manager said that he does not have any available appointments to see me and fix the problem today. He said to check back later in the week or next week. I think that's a terrible response, but what do I know?
