losing a 13 year customer

I purchased a phone in March, and it malfunctioned. Apparently it is covered under manufacturer warranty. Instead of giving me a replacement phone in the store, Verizon chose to ship me a refurbished phone. They guaranteed overnight shipment so I would not be without a phone that I need for business purposes. Fed Ex did not deliver. It has been in Indianapolis since yesterday 8am. Now I have a phone that does not work and Verizon will not give me a replacement until FedEx figures out where the package is. Why they didn't just give me a phone in the store is unbelievable to me, i am paying for a new phone, and they are giving me a refurbished phone.
So now after 13 years of being a loyal customer, never missing or being late on a payment, I will go to another company and start service. I can not be without a phone, it is not a want it is a business need and Verizon could care less. I guess the money they save risking a shipment of a refurbished phone is worth losing a 13 year customer.
Verizon should take care of their loyal customers, the cell phone market is very competitive and their poor business practices is costing them a customer.
It is not my fault the phone malfunctioned, but they made the choice to ship a phone versus giving me a phone. Other companies offer to pay off your phone from a competitor to gain your business, Verizon wont even give a 13 year customer a new replacement phone for a malfunctioning phone.
Good bye Verizon, you should take care of loyal customers in this competitive market.

Hey there, lauriel2311, we certainly appreciate your 13 years of service and know it's important to have a working phone! I'm sorry to hear your phone has not been working out for you and we definitely want to help get you back to having a working device. I understand you stopped by a store to replace your phone. We certainly appreciate that, though our store locations do not carry stock in warranty replacement devices. You mentioned the warranty replacement was shipped to you with overnight shipping. When was the phone shipped to you?

The replacement phone was shipped Thursday, overnight shipment.
I understand the terrible policy of not giving a replacement phone from a store. How bad is the policy? I can go to your competitor and they will pay off my existing phone, give me a BRAND NEW phone to gain my business.
Waiting for FedEx and Verizon to figure this out is not an option for me. I will take advantage of your competitors desire to gain customers versus Verizon's inability to take care of their loyal customers.
Again, being without a phone is not an option. If Verizon wont take care of me, other companies will.
