I received an email from Verizon in  July that offered $40 off two lines for any unlimited plan because I was 55+. The email had no expiration date. I have called the Customer Service number in the email (twice) and was told that they can't see where I am eligible for that plan. I spoke to a supervisor and got the same story. They said they would submit it for review, but I haven't heard anything. Why won't Verizon accept the offer they sent me?

The Magenta 55+ plan is 100GB per month.

Well, even better it is "unlimited", just after 100GB per month you may get deprioritized (which you can avoid by using the more expensive Magenta Max 55+ plan).   After 30+ years with Verizon and predecessors (and being an employee for most of that time) I also switched to T-mobile as the price point is so compelling.   Would have stayed with Verizon if it had made sense.   Now paying $70 for two lines, including all taxes and fees, vs paying around 80 on a 4GB plan (with discounts)

@silver6055 -

Right on the 100GB limit, but I use only 30 per month at the most. And I don’t care about or need the other freebies that the Max offers. I did just put my new iPad Mini on a separate unlimited plan for $20. And it’s 5G also. It’s great.

I was with Verizon since 1992. But my service came to a crawl the last few years and 5G disappeared after two weeks in March. I was paying too much for such poor service. And I live in a major metro area. Verizon’s coverage map is VERY inaccurate and misleading. After using T-Mobile’s 30-day test drive it was a no-brainer.

It sounds like you got a great deal also. T-Mobile has come a long way from just a few years ago. Thanks for the reply.

I received an email stating that I was invited to get this 55+ Start Unlimited plan and I live in Indiana.

I have spent several hours on this since my husband first saw the email.

This forum has made it clear that Verizon is not going to provide us with what they are advertising.

Do others have information on other carriers that have better options for us? It's likely time to leave Verizon.

Still no resolution to the 55+ plan in Florida. False advertising. Don't want to hear about $20 savings for auto payments or paperless billing. Just want what is advertised. There is nothing said about having to have an 'invite'. Think this warrants complaints to the FCC for false advertising.  Looks like there is a lot of complaints.  When you go into a store and are told 'you have to do that online', it's the beginning of the end. For what we pay, we deserve good customer service. Time to look at T-Mobile, looks like their coverage is comparable at this point and free phones to boot! Been a customer of Verizon since the 80's. Time to move on.
